Uuuugggghhhh!!!!

Well I am having back surgery on Monday. I already had a surgery this year for an ectopic pregnancy. I am a little sad. BUT, I know the Lord is watching out for me and that everything will work out for the best.

One Year Anniversary

We made it through our first year, and it has been quite the experience. We have grown so much since the first day. One thing we know about each other now that we did not know then is: Angel about Darin, he will do anything for me, even when he has just sat down he will get up to get me something; Darin about Angel, she believes that I can accomplish anything.

We decided to get a little anniversary cake.

Darin got me flowers and scissors, and as he said, I planned the weekend. Now back to the work week.

A partial visit to my childhood

Although these places are very old, they bring back many memories.

I used to swim in this old pool twice a day when I visited with my Grandma Turberville. We would swim in the morning and the evening, all to avoid the hottest sun exposure. I also remember when Ruth was learning how to drive, so we piled in the van far an adventure, or should I say a flash of my life before my eyes. Dad was instructing her, so we drove down to this pool and came back. I also remember Joseph catching a little pool frog and bring it back to the house. Of course he lost it. I think we found the bones sometime later.

The old store is where I would take my Mom's change purse and cross the highway to buy candy like; bubble gum in a tube, candy cigarettes, and more bubble gum packaged to look like Major League Baseball chewing tobacco. What in the world was I thinking? I can't believe I bought candy that resembles habits I didn't or ever will have. I also don't know why I wasn't buying chocolate.

This house is where my Mom grew up and where I spent weeks at a time visiting my Grandma Turberville. I remember the hot summer nights with a fan blowing right on me and still sweating. I also remember waking up to Joseph screaming. He said there was a roach crawling on his face and he had picked it off and thrown it across the room. Sick, but I am sure that is not the only roach story from my grandma’s house. I also remember being scared to use the bathroom by myself after dark. I always thought there would be a ghost of a past relative to greet me. I would always ask my Grandma or someone else to take me.

This old church has been painted recently. It did not look like that when I went there. We walked down the street and go inside. It was filled with dead bugs and mice bones. There are side doors where black people would enter to go upstairs where they were allowed to sit. My cousins stuffed clothes and tied a rope to it and would throw it down to scare us. I must say it was pretty effective.

I was nice to visit these places and reminisce. I have many more memories, but I will have to save them for another time. If you have any to share feel free to comment.

I am 30!!!

I turned 30 this week. Crazy I know!! Darin made me a cake, my favorite, Rainbow chip with Rainbow chip frosting. It sure was good. We didn't think to take a picture until we had already eaten some. These are pictures from when I was in kindergarten to second or third grade. I was younger in the one with all the girls.

We went to Goodwood BBQ. The pulled pork tastes like it is from the South. Yummy!!I was too tired to go to the movies, so we stayed at home the. Darin took the night off work so it was nice to spend the evening with him.

Dinner at the Hardins

Darin loves his little corn on the cob. Hehe!! The other day I was making Italian bread to eat with our spaghetti dinner, so I asked Darin to help with a few things. I asked him to turn on the oven to preheat and when it was ready to put in the bread and set the timer. When the timer went off I to went to get the bread but found an empty oven and an uncooked loaf on the counter. Quite, funny huh.

What's up with us?

So it's been a while. Here are the things we have been up to.

Baking a quiche in the new oven. Yummy!

Car trouble! Good thing Darin knows how to fix cars. We did not have to pay a mechanic.

Family weekend. It is good to be around family. We enjoyed visiting with Aunts and Uncles and cousins we haven't seen in a while.

Easter weekend in Bear Lake Utah. The off season makes for a nice quiet weekend get away. I think it would be worth visiting during the main season. Beautiful country.

A new Oven!!!!!!

Since we moved in our oven and stove have not worked right. At first it would not heat up right and then it got too hot. I've had a few meals, breads, and desserts that have not come out right. And these are foods that I have made many times. Well today the new oven came. I feel like a new home owner!!! Yaaaahhhh!!!!

Moving!!!!!

We are moving. After only 4 and a half months in this apartment we are out. The mold has become too much and the ceiling is leaking. Our land lord has not fixed the problems in the 3 months she has known about them, so she has agreed to let us out of our lease. We are packing and looking for a new place to live. We hope to find something in this general area because it is close to our work and Darin's school. Well I guess happy hunting for us. We would love any extra helpers with our move. :)

What in the?

Darin had an situation while backing out of our carport. He claims the post jumped out and got the car and it wasn't his fault. It was bound to happen because we have to park too close so we can get out of our car.

Do we have a child?

No, but our heater blows the toilet paper around and makes it look like a child was playing in the bathroom.
